First off, I want to apologize to my teammates for missing part of the workout and not performing as well as I know I can, due to not feeling well. I had a hard time sleeping Sunday night plus I was up using the restroom several times. Hopefully this will not be a problem on Tuesday. A positive spin on this problem, is that I'm probably losing more weight this way.
Second, I feel like I'm hitting a wall with my eating habits which is causing me to lose motivation. I've been keeping track of my food, but I'm just so hungry after I eat my meals. I think that part of the problem is I've been having cravings nonstop and other part is that I haven't felt good the last couple days. My old eating habits when I was sick would consist of pizza, ice cream, and whatever else I could put down. I even found myself a little irritable and almost snapped at my wife. Luckily, I caught myself before I said something I totally regretted. I have never even considered snapping at my wife, so this scared me. I know it is probably food related but it's still scary to think about. My wife is my rock and I would never do anything to jeopardise that.
Third, I wanted to congratulate all my teammates on their hard work and keeping positive attitudes during the workouts. You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work!!

First Off -- Congrats to you Mat! Feeling that sick yesterday and being able to come back and not only complete that killer workout we did today, but still have the energy and spirit afterward to encourage all of us to win it tomorrow! Awesome comeback! Second, I know I am NOT Dr. Dozie, but sweetie I am convinced that what determines our greatest success is going to be how we deal with eating. I heard you say one day during stretch that you had only 1,200 calories the previous day. I have discovered that the minimum amount of calories that I can eat each day is 1,500. I started working on my eating a week or so before the contest began. I have been committed to eating at regular intervals and NOT allowing myself to wait until I get the feeling of hunger, because for me, by that time I know I will have a difficult stopping once I've had enough. On the days my calorie range was under 1200 - I felt weak, tired, nausious and even got diarrhea. Mat I know this is a competition! But I pray you do NOT feel additional pressure to "cut corners" so to speak to get quick results. There is only so much we can lose in 10 weeks. The bigger picture here is to gain the tools to continue forward - and make it a lifestyle change. IN order for that to happen my dear, it has to be changes that YOU can actually live with. I have committed to stay in my ranges NO MATTER WHAT THE SCALE SAYS! I know we all have our motivations for being here. I don't know yours specifically. But I will say, from my point of view, WINNING, FINISHING FIRST, THE VACATION, although would be AWESOME, I don't see that is the real prize here. You are so incredibly inspiring to us. You keep fighting through and you constantly encourage us to do the same. At the end of each day, YOU are the one bringing us in, never letting any of us forget when we walk out that door - we are a team! Just keep working on finding your ranges and don't be disappointed or surprised if you discover it is in the 2,000 calorie range. Trust me, when you get it right, you will feel you can conquer the world! Stay hydrated. It helps with food cravings. And keep showing up each day - giving 100% - pushing your way through. That is what makes us winners!
